TableNest vs Resos

Resos meters bookings — Free A$0 (25 bookings/mo) · Basic A$79 (350) · Plus A$149 (750) · Unlimited A$229. TableNest never caps bookings at all: it meters SMS, and email-confirmed bookings are unlimited on every plan from $29 AUD/month.

Resos is the bigger platform — it says it serves 3,000+ restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs, it works worldwide, it has a genuinely free plan and it backs paid plans with a 90-day money-back guarantee. Six rows below go to Resos. Here is the whole grid anyway.

Resos figures are taken from Resos's own pricing page (resos.com/pricing) with its currency selector set to AUD, retrieved 22 August 2026, and are list prices. Resos also publishes EUR, USD, GBP, DKK and SEK prices through that selector which we have not verified — if you are comparing outside Australia, read the figures below as the Australian schedule and check Resos's selector for your own currency. Plans and add-ons change; confirm current terms with Resos directly.

Resos also shows an introductory “-50% for 3 months” price (Basic A$40, Plus A$75, Unlimited A$115). Everything above and below uses the list price, because that is what a venue pays from month four.

The real difference: Resos meters bookings, TableNest meters messages

Every booking platform has a metered unit, and it decides what a busy month costs you. Resos's published plans meter bookings: 25 a month on Free, 350 on Basic, 750 on Plus, and unlimited on its top plan (Resos's own pricing page, AUD, checked 22 August 2026). A venue that takes 380 bookings in December is not choosing between Basic and Plus on features — it is being moved up on volume.

TableNest does not cap bookings at any tier. What it meters is SMS: 120 messages a month on Starter and 240 on Business, where every message counts — a confirmation plus a 24-hour reminder is two — and bookings confirmed by email are never capped and never counted against the allowance. Two venues with identical booking volumes can therefore sit on different TableNest plans depending on how much of it they choose to text.

So the question to ask both platforms is the same one: “what does my bill look like in my busiest month, not my average one?” On Resos, a busy month is answered by the booking cap. On TableNest, it is answered by how many of those bookings you confirm by SMS rather than email.

What a like-for-like Resos plan costs, line by line

Resos prices its plan and then sells the pieces on top. To compare fairly, this builds the Resos stack that matches what TableNest's Business plan ($49 AUD) already includes — and nothing else. Every line says why it is counted.

Resos Basic — 350 bookings a monthThe entry paid plan. Resos's Free plan cannot take add-ons at all, so a like-for-like stack has to start on Basic.A$79.00
Online payments add-onCounted because TableNest's Business plan includes deposits, prepayments and no-show fees at no extra charge.A$18.99
Full API access add-onCounted because TableNest's Business plan includes the public REST API at no extra charge.A$18.99
240 SMS at A$0.09 eachCounted because TableNest's Business plan includes 240 messages a month. Both sides count every message the same way — a confirmation plus a 24-hour reminder is two.A$21.60
Resos total, per monthA$138.58
TableNest Business, per month — all four included$49 AUD

At 240 SMS-confirmed bookings a month you are still inside Resos Basic's 350-booking cap, so this is Basic against Business — like for like, not a stacked deck.

What this sum deliberately leaves out.Eight more Resos add-ons exist, and not one of them is in the total above. Four are excluded because TableNest sells no equivalent: TableNest has no Reserve with Google integration (Resos charges A$12.99/mo for one), no Facebook or Instagram booking channel (A$18.99), no per-venue Google Analytics or Meta Pixel settings (A$18.99) and no custom booking-form builder (A$12.99). Counting those would inflate the gap with things we do not offer. Resos' multi-venue add-on (A$18.99) is excluded for a different reason: TableNest does have a Multi Venue option — two venues on one login, on request — but it is priced as two Pro+ subscriptions rather than a flat add-on, so counting it here would compare unlike things. The waitlist add-on (A$12.99) is excluded because TableNest's waitlist auto-notify sits on Pro+, not Business, so counting it would compare across tiers. The “Customisable design” add-on (A$12.99) is excluded because we have not verified that its scope matches TableNest's custom-logo feature. And the Experiences add-on (A$32.99) is excluded because this is a bookings stack, not every module either platform sells.

What Resos does that TableNest does not

A comparison page where the competitor never wins anything is not a comparison. Six rows above go to Resos, and they are not throwaways.

  • A genuinely free plan. 25 bookings a month, core features, no card. TableNest has no free plan — 30 days free with full access to your tier, then paid. If your venue takes fewer than 25 bookings a month, Resos will cost you nothing and TableNest will not.
  • A 90-day money-back guarantee on paid plans. TableNest has no money-back guarantee; the free trial is the equivalent, and it is shorter.
  • Reserve with Google, and booking from Facebook and Instagram. TableNest has no Google booking integration of any kind, and no social-network booking channel. If being bookable from Google's own button matters more to you than what is bundled into a flat fee, that is a real reason to choose Resos.
  • Marketing pixels on the booking flow. Resos sells a Google Analytics / Meta Pixel / Google Ads add-on. TableNest has no per-venue analytics or pixel settings at all.
  • Multiple locations. Resos sells a multi-location add-on for a flat A$18.99/mo. TableNest offers Multi Venue on request — two venues under one login with a switcher between them — but bills it as two subscriptions, so Resos is cheaper for a second site.
  • Scale. Resos says it serves 3,000+ restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs and works worldwide. TableNest publishes no venue count.

Frequently asked questions

TableNest is an Australian-built booking platform priced from $29 AUD per month with no per-booking cap of any kind. Resos meters bookings — its published plans include 25 a month on Free, 350 on Basic, 750 on Plus and unlimited on its top plan — so a busy month can push a venue up a tier on volume alone. TableNest meters SMS instead: 120 messages a month on Starter and 240 on Business, with email-confirmed bookings never capped and never counted. Resos is the bigger platform by its own account: it says it serves 3,000+ restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs, works worldwide, and backs its paid plans with a 90-day money-back guarantee. Resos figures are taken from Resos's own pricing page (resos.com/pricing) with its currency selector set to AUD, retrieved 22 August 2026, and are list prices. Yes. Resos's pricing page lists confirmations as "free by email, or by SMS" at A$0.09 per SMS, and custom reminders at A$0.09 per SMS as well, both on top of the monthly plan. TableNest includes an SMS allowance in every plan — 120 messages a month on Starter and 240 on Business — with no per-message charge until the allowance runs out. Every message counts on both sides, so a confirmation plus a 24-hour reminder is two either way. Email confirmations are unlimited and never metered on TableNest. Build the same stack and Resos Basic comes to A$138.58 a month: A$79.00 for the plan, A$18.99 for the online-payments add-on, A$18.99 for full API access, and A$21.60 for 240 SMS at A$0.09 each. TableNest's Business plan is $49 AUD a month with all four included. At that volume you are still inside Resos Basic's 350-booking cap, so this is Basic against Business, like for like. It excludes every Resos add-on TableNest has no equivalent for — Reserve with Google, Facebook and Instagram booking, marketing pixels, multiple locations and custom form fields — because counting those would inflate the gap with things we do not sell. Resos figures are taken from Resos's own pricing page (resos.com/pricing) with its currency selector set to AUD, retrieved 22 August 2026, and are list prices. Several things, and they are real. Resos has a genuinely free plan — 25 bookings a month, core features, no card — where TableNest has a 30-day free trial and then a paid plan. It backs paid plans with a 90-day money-back guarantee. It sells add-ons for booking through Google, through Facebook and Instagram, and for putting Google Analytics or a Meta Pixel on the booking flow; TableNest offers none of those, and has no Google booking integration of any kind. Its multiple-locations add-on is a flat monthly fee, where TableNest bills a second venue as a second subscription. And it says it serves 3,000+ venues worldwide, which is more than we can claim.
Yes. Export your customers and upcoming bookings as CSV and TableNest's import maps the columns by header name — name, email, phone, visit count and notes — so it does not depend on any one vendor's export layout. Existing customers matched on email or phone are updated rather than duplicated. Swapping the booking widget on your website is a single embed-code line.

No booking cap. No per-message bill.

Deposits, the public API and your SMS allowance are in the monthly fee, not bolted on one add-on at a time.
