Stuck on NowBookIt? Here's exactly how to get out — and not get auto-renewed.

NowBookIt locks you into a 12-month term that auto-renews every year, and you need to give written notice well ahead of time to leave. Miss the window and you're in for another 12 months. Here's how to find your deadline, give notice cleanly, and switch to a booking system with no lock-in at all.

What NowBookIt's contract actually says

We're not going to tell you what to think — here are the relevant clauses, word for word, so you can read them yourself.

Clause 2.

The Term of this Agreement shall be from the date of initial payment, for a period until 12 monthly payments have been received. The Agreement shall renew annually thereafter (“Renewal Term”) unless and until the Participant or NBI elects to terminate this Agreement in accordance with clause 3 below. Notwithstanding the termination of this Agreement, the Participant agrees to honour all obligations and Bookings without variations through to the last booking date.

Clause 3.

After the “term”, the Participant may terminate this Agreement by notifying NBI in writing by giving a minimum of 90 days prior to the end of that term. Upon receipt of the Notice of Termination, the Participant will not be included in any further “Renewal Terms” and will cease to receive bookings from the end of that term. At any time, NBI may terminate the Agreement by providing the Participant with written notice that NBI will not renew the agreement.

What's undisputed:

  • • The initial term is 12 months (until 12 monthly payments are received).
  • • The agreement auto-renews annually unless terminated.
  • • Termination requires written notice, minimum 90 days.
  • • After termination, you must honour existing bookings through to the last booking date.
  • • NowBookIt may decline to renew at any time (the right isn't symmetrical).

Frequently asked questions

NowBookIt's agreement requires written notice of a minimum of 90 days to terminate. The initial term is 12 months and the agreement renews annually after that. The safe move is to put your cancellation in writing now — it's free and it starts the clock. Use the deadline finder above to see your key dates, then send written notice and keep proof.
NowBookIt's clause is ambiguously worded about exactly when the 90-day notice window opens, so we don't state a single reading as fact. What's undisputed: the initial term is 12 months, the agreement auto-renews annually, and termination needs at least 90 days' written notice. Counting back 90 days from your renewal date gives you the latest your notice could be due — when in doubt, give notice now and confirm your exact dates with NowBookIt in writing.
While you serve out your NowBookIt notice period, yes — that overlap is part of NowBookIt's contract, not ours. That's exactly why we give you up to 3 months free on TableNest and let you run both platforms in parallel: you switch cleanly without paying twice for long, and nothing drops while you transition.
Yes. We do a done-for-you migration: your customer list, contact details, visit history, and upcoming bookings come across with you. You own your data. NowBookIt's terms require you to honour existing bookings through to the last booking date — running in parallel means every confirmed guest is covered while you cut over.
TableNest is month-to-month with no lock-in and no commissions, starting from a flat monthly subscription with SMS confirmations, CRM, Square POS sync and more included. A real venue publicly reported saving over $150 a month after switching from NowBookIt. Unlike a 12-month auto-renewing agreement, you can cancel anytime.
